29-54mhz

66-88mhz - Disabled

108-174mhz

408-512mhz

806-956mhz - Disabled

The question begs to be asked!

Can this scanner be modified to allow more bands?

                           The answer is YES!

Below is how it is done!

More testing is required to see if in fact the                      scanner can receive these bands.

As you see above, 66-88 and 806-956mhz can be inabled!

For 66-88mhz, move the resistor located on the right, too the location marked in yellow, this add's 66-88mhz band.        NOTE:  29-54mhz is removed by this mod!

For 806-956mhz, move the resistor directly below the the empty solder pads too the location marked in yellow above that resistor.         NOTE: No bands are lost!

There seem's to be a rather interesting drawback with adding the 800mhz band.

There ALSO appears to be a drop in receiver sensitivity on the VHF and AIR band due too this modification.

I will reverse the 800mhz band to verify my findings.

After some careful testing with the service monitor, there was NO drop in receiver sensitivity as i had first thought.  So, we are still good to go in this part of the modification.

The next modification is too keep the back light on 100% of the time once that button is pressed on the front panel.

Add resistor for 800mhz band edge restore.
